Level 3 

Consonant Digraphs 複合字母構成的單音

Consonant Digraph ( 複合子音) 是兩個（或以上）的子音字母(consonants)組合而成，但我們只會發一個音。 26 個英文字母，每個都有單獨的發音。但當某些字母組合在一起，便會發出一個全新的讀音，就是Consonant Digraph。宅組合起來發出的新音素小朋友需要熟悉牢記，這個過程也還是需要小朋友平日多花一些時間多聽多練，這樣到他們真正要用Consonant Digraph拼讀一個完整的單詞的時候便能夠純熟地運用。

例如 s + h 在一起，我們不會讀"s + h"而是讀成"sh" 。最常見到Consonant Digraph有4個 : sh / ch / th / wh，其餘還有: gh / ph。有些Consonant Digraph可以產生兩種不同的發音是，如th的that和three。

我們會把Digraphs再分為Beginning Digraphs和Ending Digraphs。簡單而言，Beginning Digraphs即位置在單詞的最開頭，如"sh-i-p = ship"，Ending Digraphs 即位置在單詞的最尾，如"f-i-sh = fish"。

常見的Beginning Digraphs有 ch / sh / th / wh / ll / ng / ph / qu / kn / wr 
常見的Ending Digraphs 有 ch / sh / th / ng / mb / ss / dge / tch
